SENIOR ARCHITECT - LICENSING

We are looking for a Senior Architect to join the Licensing and Projects Department, in Maia, and we believe we will be #betterwithyou!
We are the team responsible for the development, licensing, and coordination of MC’s projects across the country, from new stores and services to refurbishments and investments. We follow the projects from preliminary study to execution, ensuring legal compliance, urban integration, and coordination with internal teams, designers, and public authorities.
We count on you to…
- Ensure interaction with public authorities (Municipal Councils, CCDR, APA, IP, Cultural Heritage, among others), fostering an effective and solution-oriented relationship;
- Manage urban licensing processes, ensuring compliance with RJUE, PDM, RJIGT, and all other applicable legal frameworks;
- Coordinate architectural projects from preliminary phases to execution, ensuring technical quality and adherence to defined deadlines;
- Analyse new development opportunities and support the investment area in evaluating their urban and regulatory feasibility;
- Work directly with procurement teams in preparing tender documents, analysing proposals, and awarding studies and technical projects;
- Monitor and coordinate the work of external designers from various specialties;
- Collaborate with different business areas within the company, ensuring the best urbanistic, functional, and architectural integration of the developments;
- Support projects developed under different business models, such as own investment, partnerships with developers, or franchising.

- A degree in Architecture;
- At least 5 years of experience in coordinating and monitoring projects and licensing processes with Municipal Councils and other public authorities;
- Knowledge and application of planning and management instruments, such as Municipal Master Plans (PDM) and the Legal Framework for Territorial Management Instruments (RJIGT);
- Knowledge of related regimes, including public easements and restrictions;
- Deep knowledge of the Legal Framework for Urbanization and Building (RJUE) and respective ordinances;
- Ability to coordinate multiple internal business areas;
- Experience in working with external designers and specialists;
- Availability to travel across the North of the country and to Madeira Island.
