We are looking for a Data Expert Engineer to join the Insights & Strategy team, within the Data, AI & Analytics CoE at MC Digital, and we believe we will be #betterwithyou.

 

You will be responsible for…

• Acting as the main technical interface between the semantic layer, AI Agents and Data Engineering, ensuring alignment with business requirements;
• Defining and validating semantic models, ensuring coverage, quality, and readiness of certified metrics for analytical consumption and AI agents;
• Designing, maintaining and evolving the integration between the semantic layer and AI Agents, ensuring consistent, controlled and contextualized access to information;
• Identifying gaps in the semantic layer (missing metrics, inadequate granularity, incomplete lineage) and communicating them in a structured way to Data Engineering teams, with clear, product‑oriented acceptance criteria;
• Applying causal inference methods (DiD, RDD, IV, CausalML, DoWhy) to analyze commercial and operational performance drivers;
• Translating causal results into actionable narratives, in collaboration with Decision Scientists, supporting strategic decisions within the Vision One ecosystem;
• Promoting an analytics culture driven by causal evidence, beyond simple correlation;
• Providing technical leadership to the team through mentoring, code reviews, engineering standards definition and architecture decisions;
• Collaborating cross‑functionally with Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers and Product Managers;
• Representing the team in internal and external technical forums.

 

So, bring with you…

• A university degree in Computer Engineering, Computing, Industrial Engineering or Mathematics;
• Solid experience (5–8 or 8+ years) in highly senior roles within data, AI or advanced analytics contexts;
• Strong knowledge of data and analytics platforms, namely Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks Apps, MLflow), GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI) and IAM and governance practices;
• Strong command of Python applied to advanced data engineering, APIs (FastAPI) and integration with LLM libraries (e.g. Anthropic, LangChain);
• Experience building and consuming semantic layers (Metric Views, Unity Catalog) for advanced SQL, analytics and AI Agents;
• Advanced knowledge of causal inference and quasi‑experimental methods (DiD, IV, RDD), as well as integration of LLM and GenAI approaches;
• Experience with prompt engineering, RAG and model output evaluation;
• Strong technical leadership skills, clear communication and cross‑functional influence;
• AI skills.
