JUNIOR QUALITY TECHNICIAN 1
JUNIOR QUALITY TECHNICIAN 1
We are a company for everyone and by everyone. With a solid and inclusive foundation, MC keeps people at the center of focus, aiming to make life simpler for clients, employees, and community members. We create value through everyone’s contributions, innovate with every step, and lead closely, attentive to each individual’s qualities and needs. We each have different stories and ideas but share the desire to grow and reach the best versions of ourselves. Everything we are, we achieve together. And there’s nothing more inspiring than that.
We are looking for a JUNIOR QUALITY TECHNICIAN to join our SOHI team in Santarém, and we believe we’ll be #betterwithyou as we look for someone who shares our passion for quality and food safety.
SOHI is the result of a joint venture between MC and Hilton Foods. Operating in Santarém since 2002, it supplies pre-packaged fresh meats. With a team of over 650 employees, we ensure daily deliveries to our stores. Committed to safety, well-being, quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement, SOHI processes high-quality beef, pork, and lamb in pre-packaged formats.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensuring Food Safety Standards: Ensure that the implemented food safety system is strictly followed across all operations. This includes monitoring daily practices, conducting internal audits, and ensuring that all team members are aware of established guidelines, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
Quality Control: Organize and oversee quality control during product reception. This responsibility includes verifying the specifications of received products, conducting quality tests when necessary, and ensuring that only products meeting established quality standards are accepted into the facility.
Internal Procedures: Ensure that all internal procedures are followed to maintain the integrity and quality of the products. The technician should be able to identify potential process failures and suggest improvements, working closely with various teams to ensure an integrated approach.
Non-Conformity Analysis: Identify and analyze non-conformities, implementing effective solutions for critical situations. This includes documenting incidents, conducting follow-up meetings, and implementing action plans to prevent recurrence, always in compliance with food safety standards.
KPI Monitoring: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective measures in case of deviations. The technician will be responsible for compiling reports highlighting performance in areas such as operational efficiency, waste, and customer complaints, contributing to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
What we are looking for…
Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, Animal Production, or related fields. A strong academic foundation in this area is essential to understand food safety and quality control principles.
HACCP Knowledge: Mandatory knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and preferably FSSC 22000 standards. You should be able to apply these principles in practical situations and contribute to maintaining an effective food safety system.
Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel for data analysis and Word for report writing. Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is also valued, as it will facilitate the management of information and processes.
Communication Skills: This includes the ability to communicate clearly and assertively, both verbally and in writing. Good communication is essential for teamwork, enabling ideas to be openly shared and discussed. Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, is also important for interpreting technical documents, participating in training, and collaborating with international partners.
Teamwork Ability: Ability to collaborate effectively with the team, fostering a supportive and cooperative environment.
Availability: Availability to work from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., adapting to schedules that may vary according to operational needs.
