We are looking for an AI R&D Software Engineer to join our Labs & AI Transformation team at MC Digital, and we believe we will be #betterwithyou!

You can count on us to...

• Conduct applied AI R&D across the team's different workstreams, such as SDLC.AI (AI-First Software Development) and AGENTS.AI (technology ecosystem for agent development), transforming hypotheses into measurable experiments and outcomes.

• Design and execute model and agent evaluation techniques (evals), defining metrics, datasets, and success criteria aligned with our real-world tasks.

• Benchmark both commercial and open-weight models against MC's reality, comparing quality, performance, latency, and cost across software development and business process use cases.

• Track releases from communities and emerging models, deploying and testing them within our environment.

• Prototype and evaluate agentic architectures, frameworks, SDKs, and low-code/no-code platforms, assessing their impact and scalability potential.

• Explore model adaptation techniques (e.g., prompting, RAG, fine-tuning) to improve results in specific tasks.

• Define and evolve the AI lab's tools and infrastructure that support continuous experimentation.

• Share findings and recommendations with technical and business teams, supporting decisions on what to adopt and scale.

So, bring with you...

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

• 3+ years of software development experience, with a track record of production systems.

• Strong experience with Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js, adapting to different technology stacks.

• Knowledge of LLMs and agent architectures (e.g., tool use, RAG, multi-agent orchestration).

• Experience with model evaluation techniques (e.g., evals, LLM-as-a-judge, test datasets, quality and performance metrics).

• Knowledge of local AI model deployments using open-source tools (Ollama, llama.cpp, vLLM, or similar).

• Hands-on experience with coding agents such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or equivalent tools.

• Strong experimental mindset and critical thinking, capable of formulating hypotheses, measuring outcomes, and drawing conclusions from data.

• Knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, and SSH.

• Experience with model fine-tuning, performance/load testing, and observability tools is valued.

• Ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical audiences, with a collaborative mindset.

• Continuous growth mindset and active interest in emerging AI trends and the evolving ecosystem of models and agents.
