We are looking for a Packaging Specialist to join our Product Development team in Carnaxide. We are seeking someone with deep knowledge of packaging, sensitivity to the challenges of the food retail industry, and an approach focused on sustainability and cost efficiency. We count on you to…
- Developing and implementing the packaging strategy for products sold in our food retail stores, ensuring proposed solutions meet consumer needs, logistical requirements, and the company's sustainability goals;
- Analyzing and selecting packaging materials based on technical criteria (barriers, resistance, product compatibility), cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations;
- Monitoring packaging industry trends, including new technologies, eco-friendly solutions, and innovations in materials and functional designs;
- Promoting sustainable and eco-efficient packaging solutions, such as the use of recycled/recyclable materials, reduction of packaging volume and weight, and reusable alternatives;
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (procurement, quality, logistics, operations, and suppliers) to develop, test, and implement new technically effective packaging solutions that ensure food safety and economic viability;
- Overseeing technical performance tests for packaging, ensuring adequate product protection during transport, storage, and in-store display;
- Continuously monitoring the performance of implemented solutions through visits to stores and logistics centers, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost, sustainability, and consumer experience;
- Managing the balance between innovation, sustainability, and cost control, ensuring all packaging proposals add value to the business and the end customer.

So, bring with you...
- Proven experience in packaging development for the food retail sector;
- Higher education in Materials Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Management, Logistics, or related areas;
- Solid technical knowledge of packaging materials (paper, plastics, biopolymers, among others) and their applications;
- Cost analysis skills and ability to optimize packaging solutions;
- Familiarity with circular economy principles, ecological footprint, and environmental legislation applied to packaging;
- A proactive profile with strong analytical skills, results orientation, and excellent interpersonal communication;
- Ability to work in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
