We are looking for a Head of Data and AdTech Strategy & Business Development to join our Endless team, MC’s Retail Media business, in Carnaxide or Matosinhos, and we believe we will be #betterwithyou!

 

A strategic business development executive who scouts international players and vets new approaches and business models, to keep Endless at the forefront of Retail Media innovation.

Market Intelligence & Industry Scanning

  • The International Scouting: Continuously monitor the evolution of global Retail Media Networks (like Walmart Connect, Amazon Advertising, and Tesco Media) to identify mature strategies and business models that can be "localized" for the MC and Sonae ecosystem within the Portuguese market.
  • Industry Connection: Establish a "Knowledge Exchange" network with leaders of other international RMNs to share learnings on scaling. Track the moves of global AdTech companies that could disrupt or enhance the ecosystem.
  • Trends Analysis: Produce quarterly "State of the Industry" briefings for the leadership team, focusing on shifts in privacy regulations, emerging ad formats, and global retail trends.

 

AdTech & Innovation Discovery

  • Tech Scouting: Maintain a high-level network with international tech companies and leaders to stay ahead of the "next big thing" in retail media.
  • Initial Vendor Relations: Act as the primary filter for new technologies ad tech providers vetting vendors, evaluating "Product-Market Fit" and technical maturity.
  • Early-Stage PoCs: Design the business case, success criteria, and strategic "why" for pilots or Proof of Concepts for new technologies and data tools.

 

Strategy for Data Activation & Measurement

  • Data Framework & Identity Maximization: Identify and evaluate the best Identity (ID) solutions and user-graphing technologies to ensure high-precision targeting. Design the long-term strategy to leverage MC’s 1st party data, ensuring all strategies are privacy compliant.
  • Data Collaboration & Monetization: Research and design the strategic frameworks, tech approaches and secure data-sharing partnerships, creating new revenue streams through sophisticated data collaboration between Endless and its potential partners.
  • Advanced Attribution & Measurement: Stay at the forefront of global measurement trends to bring "next-gen" proof of performance to Endless clients. Ensure Endless remains the market leader by aligning our metrics with evolving international standards, ensuring credibility with global agencies.

 

Strategic Business Modeling & Networking

  • Long-term Product Vision: Contribute to the 3-year strategic plan by identifying revenue streams and data products that aren't yet in the current operational cycle.
  • Value Proposition Innovation: Suggest new ways to package retail data and media inventory to maintain Endless’ leadership and innovative role in the Portuguese landscape.
  • External Networking: Represent Endless in international forums and industry bodies to keep MC Sonae at the forefront of global retail media conversations.

 

So, bring with you...

  • AdTech/MarTech Veteran: 4–5+ years of experience in the digital advertising ecosystem. Crucially, they should have spent time in Retail Media, Programmatic Advertising, or Data Management Platforms (DMPs/CDPs).
  • Strategic Pedigree: Experience in a high-level strategic role (e.g., at a global media agency, a major tech platform like Google/Amazon/Criteo, or a consultancy firm).
  • Technical & Data Proficiency: Deep understanding of how 1st party data is collected, hashed, and activated. Knowledge of how RMNs can maximize the opportunity of their data and identity solutions and frameworks. Must be able to translate technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Market Mindset: Ability to take complex global trends and simplify them for internal stakeholders, making innovation feel like a logical next step rather than a risky experiment.
  • Relationship Builder: A natural networker who can reach out to a counterpart at Walmart Connect or Carrefour Links and build a "knowledge-sharing" relationship.
  • Higher education degree.
