To join our Sonae Data Team at the Holding Office, we are currently looking for a:
PMO & Portfolio Manager Profile
Sonae Data is accelerating the use of data & AI to create value across Sonae’s businesses (retail, telecom, financial services and more).
We’re looking for a Data PMO & Portfolio Manager to own the planning, governance and reporting of our data & AI portfolio, ensuring initiatives are well-structured, on track and clearly communicated to leadership.
Core Responsabilities:
• Maintain a central view of all data & AI initiatives, from data products to AI use cases and platform work.
• Help shape the operating model by driving continuous improvement of the Sonae Data playbook (processes, tools and ways of working).
• Run PMO activities (committees, portfolio reviews, prioritisation) and manage risks, issues and dependencies.
• Support project teams with planning, resourcing, linkages with Sonae’s Businesses and budgeting.
• Monitor execution at portfolio level and highlight deviations early.
• Produce clear, executive-ready reporting and dashboards on portfolio health, demand pipeline and progress.
Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering, Management, Economics, Information Systems or similar.
• 5–8 years’ experience in PMO, project management, consulting or transformation roles.
• Exposure to data, analytics, digital or IT projects.
• Strong skills in planning, risk management, budgeting and reporting.
• Comfortable with portfolio / project tools (e.g. Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, dashboards).
• Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English.
• Highly organised, structured, and strong on follow-through, with a continuous improvement mindset.
