We are looking for a Data Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join our Data Management team. The role is well-suited for someone with foundational experience in building data pipelines and models, who is eager to grow in a regulated financial environment and contribute to data quality, integration, and provisioning initiatives.
You will collaborate with Tech, business teams, and compliance stakeholders to ensure that the organization’s operational and analytical data is accurate, accessible, and aligned with governance requirements.
You will be responsible for:

1. Data Governance
- Maintain and evolve data governance policies, procedures, and operating models (aligned with DAMA-DMBOK).
- Promote and embed data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the organization.
- Coordinate the work of data stewards and support data owners in fulfilling their responsibilities.
- Organize and lead data governance forums and working groups.
2. Data Quality
- Define and implement data quality control frameworks, including proactive and reactive checks.
- Monitor and report on data quality KPIs across operational and analytical environments.
- Lead data quality remediation initiatives and ensure long-term preventive actions are adopted.
- Evaluate and improve data quality tools, rules, and methodologies.
3. Incident Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate root cause analysis and resolution of critical data issues.
- Act as a liaison between data owners, the data engineering team, IT, and business functions.
- Ensure traceability, accountability, and follow-up in incident management.
- Support compliance alignment in collaboration with the DPO.
If you have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business Administration, or similar.
- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or a similar field.
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly payments or credit, is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle, governance frameworks, and quality practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory data requirements (e.g., GDPR, BCBS 239).
- Proficiency in tools and concepts such as data lineage, metadata management, and business glossaries.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
- Fluence in Portuguese and English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with governance platforms (Purview).
- Understanding of Databricks, SQL, and modern data platforms.
- Familiarity with BI/reporting tools and data visualization concepts.
