We're looking for a Communications Specialist to join the team responsible for Sonae’s global corporate communications. This team engages key internal and external stakeholders through public and media relations, social media, global positioning, and reputation management.
You’ll play an important role in identifying communication opportunities, shaping narratives around Sonae’s business activities and viewpoints, and ensuring consistent, high-quality execution of communication initiatives. This includes both proactive content development and responding to specific communication needs from both the team and internal stakeholders.

You bring a proven track record in delivering impactful communication projects, with the ability to navigate between priorities and manage multiple streams of work simultaneously.

Core Responsibilities:
- Identify and propose relevant communication topics based on your research and understanding of Sonae’s business developments and industry trends.
- Respond to communication briefings, crafting content that is aligned with Sonae’s positioning and messaging.
- Develop engaging content to be shared across a variety of internal and external channels.
- Manage media requests from start to finish, coordinating responses, verifying information, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Contribute to the editorial calendar and support the execution of proactive communication initiatives.
- Collaborate across internal teams and external partners to deliver communication initiatives from concept to execution.
- Monitor performance of communication activities, integrating data and insights to guide decisions and optimize future initiatives.
- Bring a critical and creative mindset to continuously evolve how we approach communications and stakeholder engagement.
Main requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience, preferably in media relations, journalism, or corporate communications.
- Degree in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the media and communications landscape, with a strategic and proactive approach.
- Comfortable integrating performance analysis into day-to-day work, using data to inform decisions and improve results.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and planning skills.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships, both within the organization and with agencies and partners.
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Work Location:
- Hybrid work model (3 days/week in the office, per company policy)
- Role based in Oporto (preferably) or Lisbon
- If based in Lisbon, regular travel to the Oporto headquarters will be required.
