Looking for an intern
Starting in May or June 2025

As an Analyst Intern at Sparkfood team, you will be part of a new fast-paced, entrepreneurial team.

We operate in the natural active ingredients from plant & animal origins, serving the human health & wellness, pet nutrition, and plant care industries. 

❖ Ingredients – We want to become a global leader in the natural active ingredients space serving animal and human nutrition, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and plant care, by acquiring and operating small to mid-cap companies. 
Current investments: BCF Life Sciences, EVRA, Nutraceutica.

❖ Venture.s - Venture arm for minority investments in impactful ingredient startups with differentiated technologies and amazing founding teams, fuelling the Ingredients’ platform with innovation. [Job offer dedicated to this vertical]

Key targets: 
 - Investments: ca 3 deals per year 
 - Ticket size: from € 1M to € 5M
 - Portfolio: Build and rotate a portfolio of 20 innovative companies
Current investments: Bluu, Verley, La Vie, Micropep, Pow.bio, Biohm Technologies.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Source and screen investment opportunities: main contributor to dealflow management including all inbounds and fostering proprietary dealflow through regular meetings with entrepreneurs, attendance to startups’ events, meetings with potential co-investors.
• Support the Head of Venture.s in conducting all aspects of a deal (investment / reinvestment / exit): carry out detailed analysis on investment opportunities and take part in the overall investment process (market study, competitive environment analysis, due diligence, investment memorandums, legal documentation, financial analysis, reference calls, coordination of stakeholders…).

• Contribute to team Market Intelligence: enhance your ingredients’ expertise by carrying out deep dives in specific verticals of focus.
• Participate in ad hoc and transversal missions of Sparkfood: including the successful deployment of Sparkfood’s ESG and Impact strategy, Venture.s’ portfolio management, contribution to our overall internal processes, collaboration with the Ingredients’ companies around innovation…

We are looking for a profile with the following qualifications:
• Strong academic background: preference given to double degree Engineering & Business or Engineering master’s degree
• Very good command of Microsoft Office tools (mainly Excel and PowerPoint)
• Fluency in English (mandatory); knowledge of other languages will be valued (including, but not only German, French, Italian, and Spanish)
• The team is located between Porto, Lisbon and Madrid, but we are flexible on this point if your location is in a strategic area for Sparkfood Venture.s.
